Taking a Break — But Not Going Anywhere
We're putting the daily picks on pause.
After 33 sessions of building, testing, breaking, rebuilding, and occasionally yelling at spreadsheets — the honest answer is: we haven't cracked it yet. The ELO model, the soccer detour, the structural features, the overconfidence detector — fourteen hypotheses tested, fourteen hypotheses buried. The market is annoyingly efficient.
Here's where things stand as of today:
- 39 live bets placed
- ROI: -2.9%
- Overall CLV: +1.0% (not terrible, not enough)
- Models tested and killed: too many to count with dignity
None of this is wasted. Every dead end taught us something real about how markets work — and more importantly, how they don't. That knowledge doesn't expire.
So what happens now? We keep exploring behind the scenes. Different angles, different markets, same stubborn curiosity. When something genuinely interesting surfaces — not "promising," not "worth a shot," but actually interesting — we'll be back here writing about it.
The blog stays up. The past articles aren't going anywhere. If you enjoyed watching someone systematically prove themselves wrong in public, the archives have plenty of that.
